There’s Something About Unity

Well, it’s day 2 at the new church and a simple reality is beginning to set in…that reality is this: Unity in leadership makes ministry happen on a grander scale. Today, I had the opportunity to spend the day with the staff at a retreat center. The day was spent celebrating wins, working through issues, casting vision and clarifying direction. On the surface, that doesn’t sound any different than most staff meetings, but what made this special was the fact each of the 9 staff people in the room have bought in 110% to what God is doing at Sunnybrook. What I love most is that everyone was free to speak, free to share a dissenting opinion and free to express their heart passionately. This is the kind of leadership environment that breeds unity, motivates people and refuels the spirit.

It’s just day 2…but there’s something about unity that has me buzzing this afternoon.
