A Long Awaited Update

update

Okay…I admit it. I’ve been in a bit of a blogging coma. Between Christmas services, Christmas day, time with the family, launching a new series and interviewing for a new ministry position, life has been pretty crazy. As I posted here, I was planning on blogging through the journey of finding a new ministry home. Since that post, a lot has happened…so let’s play catch up!

Over the last several weeks, Christine and I have had the chance to get to know a church in Iowa very well. Between emails, phone interviews, facebook connections, breakfast’s, dinner’s and Pastors coming to see us as Vale, God has started to make his plan clearer and clearer. Next week, our family will head to Iowa to spend 4 days visiting, exploring and digging into everything that makes this church tick. We’ll have the chance to see how our kids respond to their Children’s environments. We’ll have a chance to connect with their core leadership as well as the rest of the staff. We’ll get to spend an evening with their artists as well as have an opportunity to explore the city and check out the school system…AND we’ll get to spend a Sunday morning worshipping with their congregation. It’s going to be a great trip and a welcome break from the “season of craziness” we’re coming out of.

In the end, we want nothing more than God’s very best for them and for us…His desire and plan will prevail. So, in the meantime…if you have a moment, pray for us and for this church in Iowa as we seek out what God has. I’ll keep you posted on how this all turns out!

Oh…and I will now be returning to my normal blogging routine…really!
