Winter, Starbucks and Creativity

I woke up this morning looking for inspiration. Currently, we’re getting ready to launch our Christmas production at Vale (we open Friday), we’re in the middle of our “Miracles” series, I just came off a rare Sunday off and Christmas Eve is coming fast. The struggle I have is when I have too much going on, my creativity level tends to shrink. I don’t know why, but that’s just the way it is. So, this morning, I woke up looking for inspiration, something to get the creative juices flowing. I found it in a freezing cold morning, and a little quiet time at Starbucks.

I’m a “winter”…I love it when it’s cold outside. There’s something about the way winter looks that inspires me. This morning we had a little dusting of snow and it was beautiful! On my way in to the church I decided I would have my quiet time at Starbucks. The atmosphere in our new Starbucks is wonderful and seems to help me dial in creatively. So here I sit…winter, coffee, my laptop and a little inspiration.

Sometimes I think it’s necessary to clear the creative pallet…to erase everything that’s currently on the canvas and start fresh. So, that’s what I’ve done. Today, I’ll focus on some creative elements for our Christmas services, scheduling my teams through the end of the year and maybe even take a look at our “Heroes” series which launches in January.

How about you…how do you get the creativity flowing?
